IMEE MARCOS – The Senator spoke on Philippine President Bongbong Marcos amid the turmoil in the government following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte sparked opposing opinions not only between the supporters of the Dutertes and the Marcoses but as well as the family members of each prominent political clans. Surprisingly, PBBM and Sen. Marcos do not share the same stand.

Sen. Imee Marcos previously claimed that she was shocked by the unexpected turn of events last March 11 that led to the turn over of the custody of Duterte. Marcos skipped the campaign sorties of the BBM-led Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago following the arrest of the former President.

After her absence on the Cavite and Tacloban campaign rallies of the grand alliance, Sen. Marcos officially left the Alyansa. It came after Pres. Bongbong Marcos did not mention her at the campaign of the Alyansa in Cavite.

Then, Sen. Marcos claimed that she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos have not talked. She also confirmed that there’s a rift between them despite Malacañang denying it. The Senator opened an investigation in the Senate over Duterte’s arrest.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos spoke on Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the Philippine government experiencing political turmoil. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Senator expressed her belief that her brother is probably getting some bad advices from the people around him.

“Wala tayong magagawa… Hindi ko maintindihan kung sino talaga ang nag-a-advise,” she said.

Sen. Marcos also expressed her prayer that Pres. Marcos will be back on the right path. Based on the report, she stressed that what is happening in the political arena is allegedly not right anymore.

Kaya sana pinagdadasal ko lagi ang aking kapatid na mabalik sa tamang landas dahil hindi na tama itong mga pangyayari, itong politika na mapang-ape, mga pahigante, hindi na siya ayos,” Marcos said.

The Senator further claimed that she was not able to talk to her brother as many people are blocking their communication. According to her, she is not happy and proud about their situation now.

Sen. Imee Marcos stressed that the government must focus on the problems of the Filipino people and the officials must return to doing their work. Amid the May 2025 Polls being a few months away from now, Sen. Imee Marcos is endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and they have a campaign ad.
