It took a long time before Phoemela Baranda opened up about her first child
TV host-model Phoemela Baranda revealed the reason why she initially decided to hide her first child, Nichole.
Phoemela started a career in modeling at a young age. Eventually, she transitioned to mainstream media by doing hosting stints. She had the chance to work with the prominent names in the entertainment industry, such as the King of Talk Boy Abunda and Queen of all Media Kris Aquino.
In a recent interview on the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Phoemela recalled her experience working with Boy and Kris in the defunct showbiz talk show The Buzz.

Phoemela Baranda admitted that she felt pressured at that time because she was working with prominent hosts while she was still practically just starting in the industry.
In the same interview, based on the article in Bandera, the TV host-model also shared the reason why she hid that she was already a mother.
Phoemela was just 18 years old when she got pregnant, and she was 19 years old when she gave birth to Kim Nichole, who joined that Pinoy Big Brother All In edition in 2014.
It was in 2013 when Phoemela admitted to the public that she was already a mother. At that time, Nichole was already 15 years old.
She said that it was her mother who decided to hide the child. At that time, Phoemela had an active modeling career, and she had to follow the “morality clauses” in her contracts.

“Nakakontrata ako sa ganitong product, shampoo, sabon, lahat ‘yan, they’re very strict sa morality clause,” she shared.
The TV host-model also admitted that she was still immature when she first became a mother, and she was not ready for the responsibility of raising a child.
Phoemela Baranda said that her child also had to adjust when she learned the truth. “Medyo nahirapan siya kasi talagang para kaming magkapatid up to now. Actually para kaming sisters. Alam mo, swerte ako, Tito Boy. Hindi siya nagalit sa ‘kin. Feeling ko naman walang resentment. Naintindihan niya,” she said.
