Passengers in La Union Expresses Concern Due to Speeding Bus
Several bus passengers in La Union expressed concern after experiencing a frightening ride on a speeding bus.
A passenger named Nova Oliva shared a video of their frightening bus trip in La Union. Some people can be seen and heard crying, shouting, and begging the driver to stop the bus because of its reckless speed.
The bus was traveling from Balaoan to Bacnotan, a route that usually takes around 15 minutes. However, passengers claimed it only took about five minutes that day. According to them, the bus driver was speeding, ignoring their pleas, and putting everyone at risk.

Some even said the driver’s own family was on board, along with children and senior citizens.
Despite the passengers’ panic and complaints to the conductor, it seemed like no action was taken. One part of the video shows desperate passengers asking to be let off, while others are heard trying to calm the situation.
“Mag-stop na lang, mag-stop na lang,” a passenger said.
Driver Louie Burgos responded to the incident by saying another bus tried to cut them off, and he was only avoiding a possible accident. He denied driving too fast and asked the public to understand the full story before making judgments.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Region 1 has temporarily suspended the bus company’s operations. They said they would investigate the situation carefully, especially since passenger safety may have been at risk.
This incident has raised concern among the public about bus safety and driver behavior. Many hope this leads to stricter enforcement and better training for public transportation drivers to avoid similar situations in the future.
