Sarah Discaya released a statement about a smear video against Vico Sotto
Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya stressed that she has no control over the smear video against incumbent Mayor Vico Sotto.
The incumbent chief executive of Pasig City has served his constituents for 6 years now, and he is seeking re-election for his third term. The local political scene in Pasig City has been a trending topic on social media.
Previously, netizens talked about the viral video of congressional candidate Christian Sia, who is under Discaya’s Team Kaya This, for he stated an inappropriate joke about solo parents. Then, he was criticized for body-shaming a staff member.

Amid the issue, Discaya said that they suspended Sia for three days, but she stressed that they will not let go of him.
Another issue in the political scene in Pasig surfaced when a video of a PWD circulated online saying negative things about Mayor Vico Sotto. The family of the said PWD condemned what happened.
In a statement released on Wednesday, April 10, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Sarah Discaya stressed that they do not have any control over material created by people who claimed to be affiliated with their team.

“We do not have control over every conversation or piece of content produced by those who visit or claim affiliation with us,” she stressed. She explained that over the last six months, individuals, including vloggers and supporters, have come to their house and their headquarters. The mayoral candidate also said that they are already cooperating with authorities regarding this matter.
Discaya stressed that they do not condone the use of any individual, especially those who have special needs, for political campaigning. She also said that she trusts the authorities to investigate this issue fairly.
Previously, Mayor Vico Sotto directly answered Sarah Discaya’s claim about not being given a permit for the venue they had asked for their kick-off rally.
