PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that warm weather will prevail over most parts of the country.  

On Friday (April 11, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.  

PAGASA reported that Generally fair and warm weather is expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon with possible short-term rains. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains in Mindanao while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

“Inaasahan natin yung buong Luzon ay makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon pero asahan natin ang init na dala ng easterlies,” said Dominguez.  

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and SOCCSKSARGEN.  

“Kung merong panandaliang pag-ulan, dulot ito ng localized thunderstorm lalo na sa hapon o gabi,” she explained.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.  

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.  

No tropical cyclone or low-pressure area within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility is expected within the next few days.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.  

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
