During an interview with Ogie Diaz, Dennis Padilla shares this story regarding Claudia’s sentiments before her wedding with Basti Lorenzo.
The wedding of Claudia Barretto and her longtime non-showbiz boyfriend, Basti Lorenzo, was surrounded by issues because of Dennis Padilla’s sentiments aired online. He expressed intriguing posts and revealed stories that earned attention online.
Padilla’s intriguing post reflected, “GRABE KAYO!! NABUDOL NYO AKO! FATHER OF THE BRIDE NAGING VISITOR. GALING NYO!”
He was referring to the wedding where he was treated like a guest and not as the father of the bride. People online have mixed reactions regarding the issues, and amid the buzz, Padilla permanently cut ties with his children with Marjorie Barretto.
“Ayoko na, surrender na. Finished. Tatay na lang nila ako pero bringing back the relationship, wala na siguro,” the actor said. He expected to be the one to walk her down the aisle, and it hurt him that this did not happen. He even expressed that he’d rather be uninvited and just show up unannounced.
In the same interview with Ogie Diaz, he revealed that Claudia accordingly called him in the morning. She told him that the wedding would be called off while crying. He did not ask further questions, and instead, told her, “Anyway, wag mo na sagutin ang tanong ko. If you are not happy with it, don’t do it. If you are not sure with it, don’t do it.”
According to him, Claudia shared that Basti, for the past week before their wedding, showed no interest in their wedding; hence her doubts. It also looked like he wasn’t sure, and as a father, he advised her not to push it if that was the case.
He also told her, “Wag na tumuloy. It’s okay. People will understand. I will understand. Number 1, you’re beautiful. Number 2, you’re still young. Number 3, you’re a very good human being. Cry and then move on. Wag lang magpakasal. Wag mo na ituloy.”
However, an hour later, she called him again to tell him it would be pushing through. This made him speculate that she only did it because she did not want him to attend in the first place, based on the interview.
