Yassi Pressman stars in her first horror film
Actress Yassi Pressman shared a “ghost story” while she was filming for Isolated, her first-ever horror film.
Yassi has done various projects as an actress. She did comedy and drama in the past, and even action. However, it is her first time being in a horror movie. In a recent interview for the film, Yassi admitted that she easily gets scared. She even avoids watching horror movies because she would have nightmares after that.
The actress also admitted that she had hesitations when this horror movie project was offered to her. However, when she read the script and upon knowing that her co-star would be the veteran actor Joel Torre, Yassi Pressman decided to accept this.
She shared that she decided to be in a lock-in shoot, days after she would go back and forth on their movie set.
Yassi was with her stylist, Maja, in a room. One time, her stylist was taking a shower, and she went out to the sala to get the WiFi password. Then, suddenly, Maja went out to tell her to stop trying to open the bathroom door because she was still taking a bath.
The actress was shocked because she was not trying to open the bathroom door. With this, Yassi decided not to be in a lock-in taping again.
“Sa totoo lang po, sabi ko, first and last. Gagawin ko lang talaga ito to challenge myself pero hindi ko na talaga uulitin,” she said.
Yassi also shared that becaues of what happened, she would take a shower while one of her eyes was open. “Ayaw ko po nu’ng paghugas mo ng mukha, pagtingin mo sa salamin may nasa likod mo. Umuuwi ako nang ganyan. So sabi ko, baka hindi ko na siya ulitin,” she said.
Even though she had a hard time shooting for this film and she had nightmares, she felt that she became braver.
“Kaya nag-enjoy po talaga ako, so baka ulitin ko pa. Sobra po talaga akong nag-enjoy. It’s such a different challenge sa romcom. Feeling ko rin, ako bilang actress, this character is very, very different from everything I’ve ever done before,” the actress said.
After filming, Yassi Pressman shared that she really took a rest and had detoxification. The actress had to shrug off her character and take her thoughts away from their shoot location.
