Joey Reyes flaunted what the administration of PBBM is doing for the Philippine entertainment industry
Director Joey Reyes, who is also the Chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), defended President Bongbong Marcos (PBBM) and his wife, First Lady Liza Marcos.
The President started with a high trust rating with his running mate, Vice President Sara Duterte. However, despite his landslide win, critics continue to air their dismay, especially when the President and the Vice President had their falling out.
Just recently, pro-Duterte supporters have been airing online their criticism against the current administration, and issues surfaced regarding the First Family.

Behind the criticism, Direk Joey Reyes had nothing but good words about PBBM and the First Lady.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, the director shared what the administration has been doing for the film industry in the Philippines. He said that it is the first time that the government bought a machine for film restoration. Direk Joey called out to the public to stop thinking that the administration is doing nothing for the Philippine film industry.
“Wala pang gumagawa nito! Yung iba puro ‘abla’ ‘abla’ ‘abla’ pero ang gusto ko ngayon lalung-lalo na sa ginagawa ng First Lady is she’s putting her money where her mouth is. Okay? And she wants action.” Direk Joey said.

The filmmaker also said to the public should give the Pinoy films a chance before prejudgment should be done. For him, it is Filipinos who are dragging down the Filipino films. “Kasi kung hindi tayo maniniwala kung ano tayo, sino pa ang maniniwala sa atin?” he stressed.
Meanwhile, FL Liza Marcos supported the Manila International Film Festival last month. This showcased Pinoy films in the international scene. She went to the US for this, but a controversy surfaced as it was speculated that she was detained there. However, the Palace was quick to debunk this speculation.
