Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on “Honorable Peace” that Filipinos Celebrate Today
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President spoke about the solution to war which he believes is “peace” as we celebrate the Araw ng Kagitingan.
The Philippines has a rich history. It has always been both a proud and humbling moment to recall how our ancestors have fought for the freedom of the country even if it means losing their lives. Today, we Filipinos celebrate the Day of Valor or the Araw ng Kagitingan.

The Araw ng Kagitingan is celebrated every 9th of April. It is a regular holiday in the Philippines. This April 2025, it is one of the five (5) holidays approved by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. It is a commemoration of how thousands of Filipinos fought for the freedom of the country during the World War II even if it cost their lives.
The event celebrated every 9th of April is specifically the bravery of Filipinos who defended the country during the Fall of Bataan. Today is the 83rd anniversary celebration of the said significant event in the history of the country.

Today, as we celebrate the Araw ng Kagitingan, Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke at Pilar, Bataan where he led a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dambana ng Kagitingan in Mount Samat National Shrine.
The Chief Executive stressed that today, the Filipinos celebrate the peace earned from the blood and sacrifice of all those who fought for their nations during the second World War.

“We celebrate the lessons that have been learned through this very terrible hardship… The lessons that we learned are that the solution to war is not more war, and that the solution to war is only peace,” the President said.
Based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos further expressed that peace cannot be attained by one person or one country alone. According to him, all parties must come together for it and “these are the lessons that we hope to have learned”.
Reportedly, Marcos Jr. claimed that many countries have yet to learn the said lesson. He hopes that all nations will soon achieve peace. Aside from PBBM, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also gave a message as we celebrate the Araw ng Kagitingan.
