PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ and easterlies will bring scattered some parts of the country.
On Tuesday (April 8, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone and the easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather forecaster Chenel Dominguez reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting southern Mindanao while the easterlies will be affecting the rest of the country.

“Sa ngayon meron tayong dalawang weather system na nakakaapekto dito sa ating bansa, una na dito ang ITCZ na nakakaapekto dito sa may southern Mindanao. Pangalawa na dito ang easterlies na magdadala ng mainit na panahon dito sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa,” Dominguez said.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Palawan.
Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency also advised the public to brace for hotter weather from noon to early afternoon due to the easterlies.
“We can expect generally fair weather conditions in most parts of the country due to the easterlies that carry humid and warm temperatures,” Dominguez added.
No weather disturbances are expected to form within the Philippine Area of Responsibility until the weekend.
Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
