An elderly man using a tire pump as a nebulizer due to financial difficulties received help from the community.
The 76-year-old Lolo Wilfredo is living a tough life in Palawan and even breathing became a challenge. Due to financial difficulties, he had no choice but to use a tire pump as an improvised nebulizer to help with his breathing problems.
Recently, a TikTok user, Mitchai28, shared a touching video of Lolo Wilfredo, which quickly went viral. The video showed the elderly man struggling with his condition, relying on a simple tire pump because he couldn’t afford proper medical equipment. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Lolo Wilfredo lives alone in a small, makeshift house. His wife has passed away, and his four children now have families of their own. His financial situation made it impossible for him to buy medicine or seek proper medical care.
Concerned neighbors came together to help. They took turns manually pumping air for him, ensuring he could breathe. They also pooled their resources to take him to a doctor.
However, after a medical consultation, they were advised that using the tire pump could do more harm than good. Realizing the severity of his condition, they reached out to the online community for additional support.

Thanks to the kindness of strangers, Lolo Wilfredo’s life has significantly improved. He has received an inhaler, medicines, and even two proper nebulizers. Generous donors also provided financial assistance, allowing him to install electricity, buy an electric fan, replace his roof with metal sheets, and purchase new clothes and kitchen essentials.
