Many hearts got broken after PBB Esnyr opened up about his struggles.
PBB ESNYR – The funny content creator housemate recently opened up about his relationship with his father and his struggles.
Each of us has baggage we carry in our lives. While the load really put a lot of weight on us, it also fueled us to strive and do more to get past it. Esnyr, the funny housemate that the other housemates and viewers of the “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Collab” love, also has his own.
An opportunity was made for the housemates to unload their heavy baggage and share their stories, and as for Esnyr, what he’s been carrying with him all this time is his relationship with his father.
According to him, it all started when he decided to pursue his dream as a content creator in Manila. This meant leaving their family home in Davao del Sur, and he decided to leave in order to provide more for his family.
There was a time when he was so busy creating content that he forgot to respond to his father’s message, and what he read next broke his heart.
“Sobrang busy ko that time na nagme-message sila Papa sa akin, monthly sila nagme-message, ‘Saan na yung pera?’ Tapos hindi ako nakapag-reply.”
“Doon ko unang natanggap yung unang message ng papa ko sa akin na, ‘Grabe ka magpasarap sa buhay mo diyan. Kaya mo makita yung parents mo na naghihirap. Pero sige lang, gusto kong malaman mo na mabubuhay kami kahit wala ka.'”
He broke down in tears, recalling this moment and the kind of relationship they have. He was hurt reading the message from his father, for on his side, what he was doing was all for them.
He is even scared of calling himself the breadwinner of their family, as his father told him not to take all the credit. Esnyr cried, remembering how he would always just remember to check up on him to ask for money.
“Never ako na-chat na kumusta, na kumusta lang. Never in my life naging close kami. Never in my life nagsabi ako ng ‘I love you’ sa kanya. Never in my life sinabihan niya ako ng ‘I love you, sobrang saya ko na anak kita.’ Wala, wala akong narinig na ganun.”
