In a press conference, Kim Soo Hyun breaks his silence.
South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has broken his silence following the allegations involving late actress Kim Sae Ron.
Previously, many hearts were broken as, at 24 years old, Kim Sae Ron died. She was found by her friend, lifeless, inside her home. According to the investigation, no foul play was found, and her death saddened a lot of people.
This unfortunate fate also added to the string of deaths among young South Korean stars, which included Moonbin, Sulli, Jonghyun, and Goo Hara.
Her death became controversial after Kim Soo Hyun was dragged into it. This incident revealed their past relationship, and claims surfaced, putting the actor and his career in a compromised situation.
Soo Hyun confirmed their relationship before, and recently, during a press conference, he addressed the allegations of him dating the late actress when she was still a minor. The Queen of Tears star spoke to defend his side and deny the allegations thrown at him.
“I consider myself a coward. I have always been too preoccupied with holding on to what I have. I couldn’t even trust the goodwill that came my way, always fearing loss, harm, and running away, denying everything. That’s why it took me so long to stand here today,” he shared.
In his statement, he admitted that they dated in the past, but that was after she became an adult. She was already of legal age when they dated and had to deny it at first because of his ongoing drama, then Queen of Tears. He had so much to protect while the series was airing, such as his co-actors and the staff.
He then stressed that although they dated, he had nothing to do with her death. He maintained that her death was not because of the alleged pressure put on her because of her debt.
“We dated with good feelings, and after some time, we broke up. After that, we weren’t able to contact each other like we used to. Just like any other couple, contacting a lover after breaking up is a very cautious thing,” he continued.
After his press conference, his lawyer revealed that they are filing legal cases against the family of Kim Sae-ron and the YouTube channel that uploaded everything.
