Pres. Bongbong Marcos Releases Message on Muslim Celebration Eid’l Fitr
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President issued a message for the Filipinos on the Eid’l Fitr celebration of the Muslim community today.
A big part of the Filipino populace belongs to the Muslim community. Every year, there are two (2) Muslim celebrations that are declared holidays in the country — the Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan and the Eid al-Adha which commemorates the end of the Hajj pilgrimage.

Usually, Malacañang declares the Eid al-Fitr and the Eid al-Adha as regular holidays — thus, classes in all levels in schools as well as work in private and public sectors are cancelled. This year, one of the holidays this April 2025 is for the celebration of the Eid al-Fitr.
This year, the celebration of the Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan begins on the evening of Monday, March 31, 2025 until Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Pres. Bongbong Marcos declared April 1 as a regular holiday this year for the Muslim celebration.

As the celebration of the Eid al-Fitr is set to begin tonight, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has released a message for the Filipino people. In his message, Marcos Jr. described the end of Ramadan as “a time of dignified worship, deep reflection, and solemn prayer”. According to the President, the Muslim event is more than just a celebration as it testifies the Filipinos’ “desire for shared community”.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the Filipinos “to be inspired to extend our hands in service, uplift those in need, and help find joy in those who seek it”. According to the President, it is only through living with compassion and inclusivity can the people appreciate prophet Muhammad’s pursuit to a life where love and harmony are on top.
In his message, Marcos Jr. called on the Filipinos to “not forget our responsibility to one another”. He expressed his hope that the acts of kindness and engaging conversations that gather the people together define the moves of the people in stepping forward.
The message of Pres. Bongbong Marcos was released by the Office of the President on their official Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

Currently, the political arena in the Philippines is undeniably at mess ahead of the May 2025 Elections. The unexpected arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has divided the people. Amid the movements expressing the stand of the Filipino people, the International Criminal Court or ICC said that rallies and fake information won’t distract them in the trial of Duterte.
So it’s still a Regular Holiday today for Muslim population as well as for Christian people.
