According to Aiai Delas Alas, the green card of her estranged husband has been revoked.
Actress-comedienne Aiai Delas Alas petitioned to revoke the green card of her estranged husband, Gerald Sibayan, following their separation.
In October of 2024, actress-comedienne Aiai Delas Alas and Gerald Sibayan separated. Aiai confirmed her separation from Sibayan in an interview, sharing that he was the one who initiated the split over the phone.
He said that he wanted a baby that she could provide and that he was no longer happy with their marriage. All along, she thought he already understood her situation of being unable to conceive because of her age.
Moreover, based on a previous article, Aiai proved her hunch about her husband’s cheating. This was something she refused to believe initially when they separated. On January 8, 2025, she appealed to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to revoke her Petition for Alien Relative for Sibayan.
The decision was issued, and based on USCIS dated March 17, 2025, the appeal was approved and the petition was automatically revoked. It stated, “After a thorough review of your petition and the record of evidence, we must inform you that the approval of your petition has been automatically revoked.”
This is an absolute decision, as “there is no appeal” to this as per USCIS. This decision will also greatly affect Gerald’s occupation in the US, as the decision covered the travel and work permit. One of the reasons behind Aiai’s appeal to revoke his green card was the third party in their relationship.
According to Aiai’s legal counsel, Atty. Pia Dyquiangco of the Lewis Law Group in Santa Ana, California, “He will not be benefitting from Aiai’s petition. It is Aiai’s prerogative as the petitioner whether to push through with the petition or not. Because of the pending divorce she is being truthful to USCIS about the state of her marriage.”
Initially, Aiai expressed that she had no plans to revoke his green card, but what changed her mind? Cheating. There was proof that he cheated on her.
