PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Rains Showers Over Parts of PH
PAGASA – The state weather bureau reported that fair weather is expected in Luzon while rain showers are expected over parts of the country.
On Monday (March 24, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that ITCZ will be affecting Mindanao. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM.
“Sa ilang bahagi ng Southern Luzon pati ng mostly western portions ng Visayas magiging maulan pa rin po ang panahon dahil sa easterlies at kung makikita natin itong kumpol ng kaulapan possible nakakaapekto sa may ilang bahagi ng mindanao yan po yung ITCZ,” weather specialist Rhea Torres said.
The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Romblon, and Palawan.
“At dahil po dyan maaring maranasan pa rin po yung mga pagulan dito sa may western and southern portions ng Mindanao ngayong araw,” she explained.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.
“Sa mga susunod na araw itong amihan na sa kasalukuyan ay nakakaapekto sa may bahagi ng Northern Luzon unti unti po yang hihina at iiral po muli ang easterlies,” she added.
The easterlies will bring similar weather over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the astern section of the country will be moderate while the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
