Sen. Imee Marcos Skips Campaign Event of Alyansa in Cavite To Investigate Duterte’s Arrest
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator brushed off the issue after President Bongbong Marcos did not mention her at the campaign rally of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago in Cavite.
Several huge political parties in the Philippines merged and formed a grand alliance for the upcoming 2025 Midterm Elections. The alliance is named Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago and the endorsement of its bets is led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

The members of the Alyansa are the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) which is Marcos Jr.’s political party, the Lakas-CMD, the National Unity Party (NUP), the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), and the Nacionalista Party.
Sen. Imee Marcos is one of the senatorial candidates endorsed by the grand alliance. However, Sen. Marcos previously expressed a desire to withdraw from the senatorial slate of Pres. Marcos Jr.

According to Sen. Marcos, she wants to be friends with everyone. She is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.
Here are the senatorial bets of the grand alliance led by Marcos Jr.:
- Sen. Francis Tolentino
- Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos
- former Sen. Manny Pacquiao
- Makati City Mayor Abby Binay
- Sen. Imee Marcos
- Sen. Pia Cayetano
- Sen. Lito Lapid
- Sen. Ramon ”Bong” Revilla Jr.
- former Senator Panfilo Lacson
- former Senator Vicente Sotto III,
- Deputy Speaker Camille Villar
- former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo

Sen. Imee Marcos joined several campaign sorties of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago. However, following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Marcos skipped the campaign rally in Tacloban.
According to the Senator, she cannot accept what was done to FPRRD. She expressed a desire to find a way so the Filipino people can get clarification from the unexpected turn of events that brought Duterte to the Hague, Netherlands.
Sen. Imee Marcos also recently skipped the BBM-led campaign rally in Cavite. According to her, she wants to focus in investigating the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. Unexpectedly, at the said event, Pres. Bongbong Marcos made no mention of Senator Imee although he mentioned Camille Villar who was also not present at the campaign rally.
Based on a report on Inquirer, when asked about it, Sen. Marcos just brushed it off. She stressed that she was the one who said she wants to focus in the investigation.
“K lang, tutal sinabi ko na, na ang aking tututukan ay ang pagsisiyasat ng mga pangyayaring labag sa batas noong kinuha si FPRRD,” Sen. Marcos said.
Sen. Marcos leads the Senate committee hearing on the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. Following the inquiry, Sen. Marcos believes that there seems to be no due process in the arrest of former Pres. Duterte.
