Sen. Imee Marcos Skips Pres. Bongbong Marcos-Led Alyansa Campaign Event in Cavite
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President never mentioned his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, at the campaign event of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago in Cavite.
This election marks the first time that several huge political parties in the Philippines united and formed a grand alliance — the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago. It is composed of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the Lakas-CMD, the National Unity Party (NUP), the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), and the Nacionalista Party.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos leads the endorsement of the senatorial bets of the Alyansa. His sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, is one of the senatorial bets in the Marcos’ slate but she previously expressed a decision to withdraw from the line-up.
According to Sen. Marcos, she wants to be friends with everyone so she can join any team. She expressed that she also does not want BBM to be placed in a confusing situation. Meanwhile, the President said that the alliance will still campaign for his sister.

Sen. Imee Marcos has joined the campaign sorties of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago prior to the unexpected turn of events last March 11. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was arrested by the PNP (Philippine National Police) authorities and sent to the Hague, Netherlands.
Duterte is currently under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC). According to Sen. Marcos, she was shocked and cannot accept what was done to the former President.
Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the BBM-led Alyansa campaign rally in Tacloban following Duterte’s arrest. She led the Senate committee investigation on the arrest of the former President amid the questions if it followed a legal process.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos skipped a BBM-led Alyansa campaign rally anew. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos led the campaign event in the province of Cavite and he talked about all the senatorial bets of the alliance except for his sister.
Based on the report, senatorial aspirant Camille Villar also skipped the alliance’s campaign rally in Cavite but the President talked about her. Sen. Pia Cayetano who also missed the Tacloban campaign sortie of the Alyansa joined the event in Cavite.
Following the Senate hearing, Sen. Imee Marcos expressed her view that due process is seemingly absent on the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
