Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Mom and Duterte’s Ex-Wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President revealed that her mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman, is flying to The Hague, Netherlands.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is currently detained in the Hague, Netherlands following his arrest in Manila last March 11. The former President of the Philippines was arrested upon his arrival from Hong Kong under an alleged arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The ICC reportedly issued a warrant of arrest against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte due to the allegations surrounding his administration’s war on drugs. The ICC welcomed the arrest and transfer of the custody of Duterte.
Duterte was “forced” to board a flight to Dubai en route for The Hague, Netherlands on the same day he was arrested by the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP). The next day after it, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte flew to the Netherlands to support her father.

According to the Vice President, she is the only one among their family members with a Schengen Visa and a lawyer. She revealed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants her to go home to the Philippines and not leave the country.
The Vice President claimed that she will just talk to the legal team of former Pres. Duterte, wait for another kin to be there, and return to the Philippines. She stressed that she will work remotely with the legal team of the former President.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Elizabeth Zimmerman, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s ex-wife, will go to The Hague, Netherlands. Based on a report on GMA News, she has decided to fly to The Hague regardless of the certainty that she will be allowed to visit the former President.
“I think nag-decide siya [Zimmerman] last night na pupunta siya rito. Whether or not makapasok daw siya, pupunta raw siya,” Vice Pres. Duterte said.

Based on the report, the Vice President said that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and Elizabeth Zimmerman’s marriage has been annulled. Thus, her mother is no longer considered a next-of-kin.
The next-of-kin privileges rest among the children of former Pres. Duterte. Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that FPRRD could not be brought home to the Philippines, thus, the Filipinos must move on as one country.
