Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Advises Filipinos To Move On
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President she no longer has any feelings over the arrest of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as she tells the Filipinos to move on.
Contrary to the previous claim of former presidential spokesman Harry Roque, Vice Pres. Duterte announced that former Pres. Duterte’s legal team will exclude Roque and Salvador Medialdea, the former executive secretary of Duterte who served as his legal counsel during his initial appearance before the pre-trial chamber of the ICC.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte won’t also enlist as the legal counsel of her father. According to her, the legal team of the former President will be composed of all foreign lawyers. British-Israeli lawyer Nicholas Kaufman will lead the team.
Only Vice Pres. Duterte was able to personally talk to former Pres. Duterte since he was arrested last March 11 and sent to the Hague, Netherlands. The former President was arrested by the authorities of the Philippine National Police (PNP) upon his arrival from Hong Kong.

The controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte elicited different reactions. It earned Malacañang and Pres. Bongbong Marcos criticisms. The Palace defended Marcos saying he did not betray anyone as the government only acted on its commitment with the Interpol.

Countless supporters of Duterte not only in the Philippines but as well as abroad call on the government to bring him home to the country. Senator Imee Marcos said it seems like Duterte has no country of his own when he was surrendered to the ICC.

It is no secret to the public that the presidential sister and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte are friends. Recently, the Vice President spoke an advice for the Filipino people to just move on from what happened. She claimed that she has no feelings over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte anymore.
“Sa totoo lang wala talaga akong nararamdaman. Hindi ako galit, hindi ako disappointed. Nothing at all. Kasi pointless naman na mag-harbor ako ng feelings about what happened. Hindi na siya maibabalik. Hindi na mababalik si Pangulong Duterte sa Pilipinas,” the Vice President said based on a report on ABS-CBN News.
According to the Vice President, what the Filipinos should do “as a country is move on from what happened”. Based on the report, she stressed that if the Filipinos will get angry over what happened, the anger will not go anywhere as the government will allegedly not hold the responsible ones in the arrest accountable.
“Ano bang gagawin ng bansa? Ituloy natin ang demand natin for transparency, accountability, peace and security para sa ating bayan,” Duterte said.
Amid the issue, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte questioned the “disturbing silence” of the AFP during the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. She stressed that the one being arrested was their former chief executive.
