Here’s an update about Salvador Medialdea who was hospitalized.
Rodrigo Duterte’s counsel, Attorney Salvador Medialdea, was hospitalized, and here’s an update about him according to Bong Go.
Former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea fell ill on Tuesday, leading to his hospitalization. He is among the attorneys making up the defense team of Rodrigo Duterte at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Senator Robin Padilla, who is currently in The Hague for Duterte, shared an update on his Facebook page and posted a photo of Medialdea in a wheelchair. Reportedly, an ICC detention center medic attended to Medialdea when the incident happened and was brought by an ambulance to a “Hague area hospital”. The PH Embassy shared that he is currently receiving treatment there.
Bong Go, in an interview, shared that Medialdea was admitted to a hospital because of dizziness, which was not the first time. The first time it happened was accordingly when they landed at The Hague.
“May problema po sa heart si Atty. Medialdea, noon pa yan. At ngayon naman, kanina, nahihilo naman po. So, mag-isa na nga lang si Tatay Digong doon. Yung abogado niya na allowed pumasok ay nagkasakit pa po,” Go said in an interview.
As for Go, the Senate hearing recently held for the ICC arrest of Duterte is “too late.”
He respected the initiative of Senator Imee Marcos to hold a Senate inquiry as her right being the chair of the Committee on Foreign Relations, but as a member, he expressed his grievances, thinking that the inquiry was already too late.
Meanwhile, Bong Go is seeking re-election this 2025 as a senator. He is known as the executive assistant of Duterte, serving the former president since 1998. He currently chairs the committees on sports and health and demography and has authored several laws that Duterte signed into law, such as the Malasakit Center Act and the Department of Migrant Workers Act.
