Honest Lady Guard Earns Praise for Returning Passenger’s Lost Bag w/ P146K at Laoag Airport

An honest lady guard earns online admiration for returning a passenger’s lost bag containing a huge amount of cash.

Honesty in returning lost items means doing the right thing by giving back something that does not belong to you. When someone finds a lost item, whether it’s money, a wallet, a phone, or important documents, returning it to the rightful owner shows integrity and kindness.

Returning lost items builds trust in a community and sets a good example for others. It also brings peace of mind, knowing that you did the right thing. Even when no one is watching, choosing honesty over temptation reflects strong character and respect for others.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, a lady guard at Laoag International Airport (LIA) was praised for her honesty after returning a lost bag containing over P146,000 and important documents to its rightful owner.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) recognized the integrity of security personnel Rhea Taysa, who found the unattended bag on a gang chair in the arrival area. Without hesitation, she brought it to the Security and Intelligence Service for verification and safekeeping.

Upon inspection, officials discovered that the bag belonged to a 79-year-old female US national. Along with the large amount of cash, it contained a passport, identification cards, a driver’s license, and other valuable personal belongings.
