Baby Girl Loses Her Life After Lungs Got Filled w/ Phlegm
LIFE THREATENING CONDITION – A baby girl with a simple cough lost her life after her lungs got filled with phlegm and air.
A mother’s worst nightmare became a reality when her four-month-old baby, Aya, was rushed to the hospital due to a persistent cough. The supposed common illness quickly turned into a life-threatening condition, leaving her tiny lungs filled with phlegm and air.
At first, Aya’s mother, Ivy, only noticed a recurring cough. But soon after, the baby developed a high fever and began struggling to breathe. Alarmed, Ivy brought her to the hospital, hoping for immediate treatment.

However, instead of improving, Baby Aya’s condition worsened, and she was suddenly fighting for her life.
Doctors discovered that the baby’s lungs had expanded abnormally due to trapped air and excessive phlegm. To relieve the pressure, the medical team had to insert a tube into her side to release the built-up air.
She was also placed on a ventilator to help her breathe, but despite all efforts, she continued to struggle.
Aya’s mother was confused since no one in their household smoked. She suspected that the nearby piggery might have contributed to her child’s illness. However, pediatric experts explained that pneumonia in infants is often caused by exposure to people with colds, flu, or respiratory infections.
The bacteria or viruses from these illnesses can lead to the buildup of phlegm in the lungs, making it difficult for babies to breathe.

Despite the doctors’ best efforts, Baby Aya ultimately lost her battle with pneumonia. This heartbreaking case serves as a reminder for parents to take even a simple cough seriously, especially in infants.
If left untreated, it can result into a severe condition. Seeking medical attention at the earliest signs of trouble could save a child’s life.
