Female Army Reservist Quits Job Following Former President Duterte’s Arrest
A female army reservist touches many hearts after sharing an emotional post about her decision to leave the military.
Recently, Yumi Santiago, a Facebook user, explained why she chose to resign from her profession. The post immediately circulated online and garnered various reactions from the internet users.
Santiago shared that she had dedicated her life to serving the country and had sworn an oath to protect the nation and its people. However, she felt deep sadness and frustration over recent events, particularly the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Yumi expressed disappointment that the leader she considered a father figure to the Philippines had been betrayed by the very people who succeeded him. She believed that many focused only on Duterte’s tough and outspoken nature, ignoring his contributions and leadership.
The current situation made her question her dedication to the military. Her passion had turned into doubt and sorrow. She felt conflicted about continuing her advocacy, especially when she believed justice was lacking in her own country.

Despite her resignation, Santiago remained firm in her desire to fight for the future of her children, her grandchildren, and the generations to come. She bid farewell to her uniform and military career, stating that her memories of service would always be remembered.

My uniforms and memories will forever be remembered.
This is Sgt. Santiago. PAFR (Badge # BN-T21-01***1)”
