Robin Padilla Calls on President Marcos to Intervene in Duterte’s Arrest
ROBIN PADILLA – Senator Robin Padilla has urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to take action following the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Senator Robin Padilla has called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to intervene and halt the operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) following the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte. Padilla alleged that the PNP’s actions were influenced by foreign powers and urged Marcos to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
In a strongly worded statement, Padilla reminded Marcos of the unwavering support he and his allies had shown in the past, even when others hesitated. He drew a parallel between Duterte’s situation and the forced exile of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., suggesting that Duterte’s arrest was a violation of justice and national dignity.

Padilla claimed that the PNP’s current operations were being influenced by foreign interests rather than prioritizing national welfare. He called on Marcos to use his authority to stop these actions and safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
The senator further emphasized that the fate of the nation rests in the hands of President Marcos, urging him to act decisively amid growing political tension.

Padilla concluded his statement by appealing for national unity, encouraging Filipinos to stand together in the face of political challenges.
The arrest of Duterte has sparked political tensions, with his supporters and allies demanding his release. Meanwhile, the PNP maintains that their actions are in line with existing laws and due process.
