18-Year-Old Woman Robbed, Suspect Couple Caught After Running Out of Gas
A suspect couple who robbed an 18-year-old woman in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental was arrested after running out of gas.
On Tuesday evening (March 11, 2025), a young couple ran out of luck after they attempted to escape on a motorcycle following a robbery but got caught when they ran out of gas. The incident took place in Bangga Cory, Brgy. 36, Bacolod City.
The female victim, an 18-year-old woman from Brgy. 34, was walking along the road when the suspects suddenly stopped beside her on a motorcycle. One of them pointed a homemade gun at her and took her bag, which contained over P2,000 in cash and her cellphone.

As the suspects, identified as a live-in couple known as Josephine and Michael from Purok BM, Brgy. Taculing, attempted to flee, a delivery rider witnessed the crime. Without hesitation, the rider reported the incident to the police, providing important details that led to the suspects’ arrest.
Just as the suspects were trying to get away, their motorcycle ran out of gas, leaving them stranded. The mishap allowed the police to catch up with them easily and take them into custody.
The couple is now being held at Police Station 1, where authorities are preparing the necessary documents to file a robbery case against them.
