Phillip Salvador expressed anger after Duterte was arrested

Veteran actor and senatorial candidate Phillip Salvador became a trending topic on X, formerly Twitter, after former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested.

FPRRD was arrested on Tuesday morning, March 11 when he arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 from Hong Kong. This was prompted by the warrant of arrest issued against Duterte by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Phillip is one of the avid celebrity supporters of the former President. He is also close to FPRRD’s former aide Senator Bong Go. The actor was also among the many supporters of the former President who reacted after the arrest.

Based on the article in Balita, Phillip Salvador was angry with what happened. “Walang makalapit sa kaniya, ultimo mga abogado niya, ni isang doktor man lang para palapitin sa kaniya, wala!” the senatorial candidate said.

When asked if he has any idea what would be the next step that the camp of Duterte will do, he said that this is up to the former President’s lawyers now.

“Nasa mga abogado ‘yan. Kailangang mag-file sila ng ano sa Supreme Court. Kasi ilegal ito, wala namang pinapakita eh,” Phillip said.

After the arrest, Phillip also became a trending topic on the micro-blogging social media platform. Some netizens questioned why the actor was also at the airport during the former President’s arrival, while some netizens commented on his photos in which he was crying.

For some netizens, Phillip showed how good he is when it comes to acting and that he is indeed an award-winning actor. Some netizens commented about how he is as a father to his son Josh with his former partner, Queen of all Media Kris Aquino.
