Curlee & Sarah Discaya Hand Over Fresh Evidence in Flood Control Probe

More Revelations: Discayas Strengthen Case in Flood Control Mess at DOJ

FLOOD CONTROL – In a move that could bolster the government’s corruption probe, Pacifico “Curlee” and Sarah Discaya submitted new documents to the DOJ linked to the alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

Contractors Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya and his wife, Sarah, personally went to the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Saturday afternoon to turn over additional evidence linked to the alleged anomalies in the government’s flood control initiatives.

Curlee, who was escorted from his detention cell at the Senate facility in Pasay City, maintained a calm demeanor and refrained from giving any statements to the press, responding only with a nod when asked how he was doing. Sarah also declined to comment when reporters sought her reaction outside the DOJ building.

Reports indicated that the couple’s meeting with DOJ officials lasted around three hours. Their lawyer, who joined them during the visit, also refused to share details about the discussions or specify the nature of the evidence submitted. Likewise, DOJ representatives did not entertain media interviews after the closed-door session.

This marks the Discayas’ second appearance at the DOJ within a week as they continue assisting investigators in the ongoing probe. The Justice Department confirmed that its request for inclusion in the Witness Protection Program (WPP) is still under evaluation.

The DOJ is intensifying its investigation into the alleged corruption involving certain lawmakers, private contractors, and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The flood control projects under question are being examined for possible overpricing, poor construction quality, and misappropriation of public funds.

In a related update, former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo also visited the DOJ last Tuesday to contribute to the continuing evidence-gathering process. His participation forms part of a larger effort that aligns with the separate investigations being carried out by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure and the Office of the Ombudsman.

While authorities have yet to disclose conclusive findings, the Discayas’ recent submission of additional evidence is considered a significant development in uncovering the depth of alleged corruption behind the flood control projects. The DOJ reiterated its resolve to hold accountable all individuals found responsible for the misuse of public funds.
