Former VP Leni Robredo Draws Cheer from Loyal Ilonggo Supporters

LENI ROBREDO – The former Vice President has once again spoken to the Ilonggos in Iloilo who greatly supported her in the 2022 Elections.

The 2022 Elections undeniably marked the history. Even political analysts agree that the campaign rallies of the Leni-Kiko tandem have truly left a mark in the hearts of countless Kakampink and Angat Buhay supporters.

However, the results of the 2022 Elections did not favor the supporters of the Leni-Kiko tandem. Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo went behind Pres. Bongbong Marcos in the presidential race while former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan also lost in the vice presidential race.

Undeniably, the 2022 loss of the Leni-Kiko tandem brought countless of their supporters to tears. Meanwhile, the said defeats have definitely not stopped the former Vice President and the former Senator from taking another political race.

Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is running for mayor in Naga City where her late husband, former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo, has also served as mayor. Former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan is taking his chances for a comeback in the Senate.

Recently, former senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino had their campaigns in Iloilo. During the 2022 Elections, the Leni-Kiko tandem won in the province and their rallies were filled by a lot of Ilonggos.

Based on a report on Interaksyon, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo was present during the kick-off of the campaign rallies of her political allies held at Iloilo Sports Complex. In her speech, the former Vice President who is now running for Naga Mayor recalled the crowd when she was campaigning.

“One of the biggest crowds in Iloilo… Sino ba ditong na-broken-hearted? Kahit broken-hearted kayo, kahit umiyak kayo, wala kayong kadala-dala! Andito pa din kayo!” the former Vice President said.

Based on the report, Robredo stressed that the people present at the rally are persistent despite their tandem’s defeat in 2022 because the one being fought for is the country. Her last phrases earned cheers from the supporters at the rally.

“Pag bayan ang pinaglalaban, hindi tayo napapagod. At ‘yun ang dahilan kung bakit tayo nagkakaisa pa din. Hanggang ngayon. Naghiwalayan na ‘yung iba, tayo, magkakasama pa din,” Robredo told the crowd.
