Actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi shares what actress-director Gina Alajar told her before that she has not forgotten until now.
Multi-awarded actress Gina Alajar is one of the multi-awarded actresses in the Philippine entertainment industry. She received several Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress wins from prestigious award-giving bodies such as FAMAS, Gawad Urian, and Luna Awards.
In the recent vlog of Ivana Alawi with Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza, they had a conversation in which she shared her encounter with Alajar. It happened when she was still a newbie in the industry.
According to Ivana, ever since she started in show business, she’s always been shy, and because of her shyness, she rarely interacts with the people she is working with. While she was still practically new in the industry, she had a chance to work with Alajar, and according to her, she received good lecturing from the veteran actress because of this trait of hers.
“Halika dito. Ikaw hindi marunong mag-hello at bumati at maki-tsikahan sa amin,” were accordingly the words of the multi-awarded actress. She apologized to her because of this, but despite what was said to her, she remained quiet as she’d really rather keep quiet.
Moreover, Direk Gina was also the first one to curse her. She did not share the experience out of spite. She actually shared it with amazement in her voice and “loved it” because she learned a lot. She appreciated it.
“Di pa rin nawala yung hiya ko. Pero in fairness dahil kay Direk Gina, siya ang unang nagmura sa akin,” she recalled as it was that moment when she pushed her to do something. It was an experience she has not forgotten.
After Starstruck, they saw each other again but she remained the same.
