Carlos Agassi: ‘Seen-Zoned’ by The Hunks?

Carlos Agassi IGNORED by The Hunks?

CARLOS AGASSI – Actor and rapper Carlos Agassi recently revealed that he was “seen-zoned” by his former group, The Hunks.

Carlos Agassi recently opened up about his lack of communication with his former groupmates from The Hunks, revealing that while they read his messages, they do not respond. The rapper-actor shared his sentiments in a video posted on his social media accounts, answering a question about whether he still meets up with the other members.

The Hunks, a popular all-male group composed of Carlos, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, Bernard Palanca, and Piolo Pascual, once dominated variety shows on ABS-CBN. However, the group eventually disbanded, and according to Carlos, the reason was career growth.

“Guys, kaya nga nabuwag kasi gusto ng kanya-kanyang career noong iba. Kasi ‘pag group, pantay-pantay kami sa lahat eh—sa exposure, sa TF [talent fee], sa career. So para makaangat ‘yung iba, parang nabuwag. Ganoon na nga ‘yung nangyari. Eh ‘di wala na, wala na talaga,” he explained.

Since then, he admitted, they have barely spoken. Even during difficult times, such as when he suffered an injury, he received no messages from his former groupmates. However, he holds no grudges.

“Kahit nga noong napilayan ako, walang nag-check sa akin. Pero hindi masama ‘yun, okay lang. Ganoon talaga ‘yung buhay eh,” he shared.

Carlos fondly recalled past instances when he helped his former bandmates without expecting anything in return. He recounted an event in the U.S. where he was invited to perform but declined payment, choosing instead to support his friends for free.

However, times have changed. When Carlos reached out to his former groupmates for a cameo in his 2023 music video “Milk Tea,” his messages were left on seen.

It is worth noting that “Milk Tea,” a self-produced single by Carlos, faced criticism for its explicit and innuendo-laden lyrics, with some calling it transphobic.

Despite the lack of response, Carlos still encountered his former bandmates at a recent birthday party for Johnny Manahan, also known as Mr. M, their former showbiz mentor. Although they greeted him warmly, he acknowledged the difference between showbiz interactions and real-life relationships.

In the end, Carlos accepted the reality of the entertainment industry, saying, “Hindi masama ‘yun. Ganoon talaga ‘yun. That’s life, ‘di ba? Kumbaga, magkakakumpitensiya kami. Ayaw nilang makabalik ako.”

Yet, he remained optimistic, concluding, “Tama kayo. Mali ako. Walang hatred. Just love.”
