Malacañang Speaks about Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Following VP Sara’s Statement
RODRIGO DUTERTE – Malacañang reminded Vice President Sara Duterte of the alleged “most corrupt award” of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte in 2017.
The relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has turned sour. It was evident to the public since she resigned from being the Department of Education (DepEd) secretary and with the tirades she has thrown against the President.

Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos has reached the “point of no return”. She also called on the House of Representatives to also investigate the spending of the Confidential Funds of the Office of the President.
The statement of the Vice President came after COA reported that the OP remains the top spender of the Confidential Funds. Currently, Duterte is facing impeachment issues after the lower chamber approved her impeachment.

Three (3) impeachment complaints filed by the individuals who came from different walks of life were filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the House of Representatives. In the fourth impeachment complaint, 2/3 of the lawmakers signed the impeachment raps.

Currently, many Filipinos including some senators await the proceedings for the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, in Cebu, she made a statement that caught the attention of Malacañang.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte told the Cebuanos that they have the right “to show their anger to the government” and Malacañang is disappointed by the statement. Palace press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that it is disappointing that it came from the vice president.
Following the statement, based on a post on ABS-CBN News’ Facebook page, Malacañang reminded Vice Pres. Sara Duterte of the alleged “award” of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, in 2017.

Based on the post, Palace press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was allegedly a runner-up in 2016 but he was awarded as “the most corrupt” a year after.
According to Castro, the “award” was from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. Here’s what the Palace Press Officer said:
“Noong panahon ba ng kaniyang ama, nagsabi rin ba siya na maaari kayo magalit, lalong-lalo na noong ang kaniyang ama ay nabansagan bilang ‘most corrupt’?”
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has yet to react on the statement of Malacañang about former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Recently, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero issued an order to prepare for the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
