Eugene Domingo found love with a foreigner and here’s what others should learn from her
Seasoned actress Eugene Domingo shared this reminder to other Pinoys who have “AFAM” partners.
AFAM stands for “All Foreigners Assigned in Manila.” This has become an informal theme for those foreigners who found love with a Pinoy or Pinay. Eugene found her “AFAM” years ago during the time when she was about to give up on love.
Previously, Eugene shared that when she was in Italy for the Udine Far East Film Festival in Udine for her movie Barber’s Tales, she shared that she was basically tired of everything in her life at that time.
She felt unenthusiastic about everything and she somehow accepted that she would be single her entire life. With that, she thought of entering the convent.
Suddenly, Danilo appeared in front of her and said that he was a friend on Facebook. Eugene did not believe that and thought that it was just part of his “sweet talk.”
Later on, she learned that Danilo is a film critic and he has been watching Asian Films, including Eugene’s movies Kimmy Dora and Ang Babae sa Septic Tank.
Then, Danilo interviewed Eugene and the latter realized that the former has beautiful eyes. The actress wanted to talk to the film critics for a long time, and she wanted them to be friends, but an usher already guided Danilo out of the interview area.
When Eugene Domingo returned to the Philippines, she did not hesitate to start communicating with Danilo Bottoni. She emailed the Danilo’s editor and said that she wanted to thank the film critic and that started everything between them.
Now, Eugene and Danilo are happily married. In a recent interview teaser that The Philippine Star entertainment writer Dolly Anne Carvajal shared, Eugene Domingo shared her advice for those Pinoys with AFAM partners.
“For those with ‘afam na jowa’ like me, you have to embrace their culture and learn their language. It will unblock so much stuff in your relationship,” the seasoned actress said.
