Angeline Quinto shared that she and Sarah Geronimo were schoolmates
Kapamilya singer Angeline Quinto revealed something about the stint of Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo in Star For A Night.
Sarah rose to fame after she was hailed as the champion in the said singing competition hosted by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. From that, Sarah became one of the most popular singers of her generation.
Eventually, she ventured into acting and did teleseryes and movies. Just like Sarah, Angeline also rose to fame after winning a singing competition.
In 2011, Angeline Quinto was hailed as the champion of Star Power. She also found success in her singing career and ventured into acting and hosting.
In a recent episoed of Kusina Wars vlog of content creator Viy Cortez, based on the article in Abante, Angeline shared a story about Sarah. Viy asked Angeline, “Ikaw ba ‘yung nakasabayan ni Ms. Sarah Geronimo?”
With this, Angeline opted to share a story about her fellow Kapamilya singer. She said that she and Sarah were schoolmates during their elementary days.
One time, she saw Mommy Divine Geronimo, Sarah’s mom in their school. Mommy Divine asked Angeline, “Di ba nakasali ka sa ‘Star for a Night?'” and she answered, “Ay, opo.”
Then, Angeline told Mommy Divine where to audition and the requirements needed and Sarah was able to enter the competition. After that, Viy exclaimed that was when Sarah won.
With that, Angeline Quinto jokingly said, “So, Mommy Divine, nasaan na ang komisyon ko?!” Viy said that it was Angeline’s fault that she did not win. The singer said that indeed it was and quipped that she should have not told Mommy Divine. Viy said that this goes to show that each person’s time will come. Angeline found her own success and she is now tagged as the Philippines Queen of Teleserye Themesongs.
