PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy to rainy weather over parts of the country.
On Monday (February 24, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that the Northeast Monsoon will continue to affect parts of Luzon on Monday and will bring clouds and rain.

“We are seeing clouds approaching the land. These are due to the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean,” Torres said.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, Caraga, Sorsogon, Masbate, Capiz, Iloilo, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro.

“Due to the easterlies, a large part of Visayas, as well as the eastern sections of Mindanao and some parts of the Bicol Region, may experience rainy weather,” he added.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.
“In the coming days, we expect the northeast monsoon’s effects to intensify slightly, bringing light rains to the eastern part of the Luzon area for the next two days,” he explained.
The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be rough to very rough. Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will have moderate to rough waters.
Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over the rest of Mindanao, according to PAGASA.
