The authorities are open to investigating the “kill” remark of Rodrigo Duterte, the former president.
Former president Rodrigo Duterte remarks may be investigated if the lawmakers themselves file a complaint.
Reelectionist senators Ronald dela Rosa and Bong Go, accused offender and his former spiritual adviser Apollo Quiboloy, actor Phillip Salvador, singer Jimmy Bondoc, Vic Rodriguez, Jayvee Hinlo, Raul Lambino and Rodante Marcoleta are the picks of former president Rodrigo Duterte under the PDP-Laban.
Previously, during a public event where he showed his support for these aspiring politicians in this upcoming midterm election, he made a controversial remark. As per his statement, he suggested an idea of what to do to give his picks a seat.
“Now that there are many of them (aiming for the Senate). What should we do? Why don’t we just kill the senators now so we can vacate their seats? If we can kill about 15 senators, we’ll all get in.”
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Chief Police Major General Nicolas Torre III filed a complaint against the former president because of this remark. Torre believes it was unlawful utterances and inciting to sedition and was for “case buildup” under Department Circular No. 20 of the DOJ.
On Tuesday, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) expressed its openness to investigate the matter related to the remarks. This is possible if the lawmakers themselves file a formal complaint.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago, however, sees the remark as rhetoric as the former president is known for his colorful language.

In a previous article, the current president seemed to have taken a swipe at the former president because of what he has publicly remarked threatening the lives of 15 senators. During his speech at the Carmen Municipal Plaza, he expressed that others were either surprised or intimidated to resort to all kinds of strategies.
As per him, some even resort to claiming lives as they are in this helpless situation in making a seat for their beats.
