PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring cloudy skies with rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (February 15, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies and rain showers over Mindanao. The ITCZ will also bring rains over the Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

“For Bicol Region, bago mag tanghali, mataas ang tsansa ng mga pag-ulan dahil din sa easterlies,” Estareja said.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, and Surigao del Sur.

“Then, pagsapit ng hapon hanggang sa gabi, madalas makulimlim ang panahon at aasahan yung mga pag-ulan na usually nagtatagal ng isa hanggang dalawang oras,” Estareja said.

“But then, pagsapit ng hapon hanggang sa gabi, may mga times pa rin na magiging maulap at may tsantsa ng mga pag-ulan na pulo-pulo or yung saglit na thunderstorms, lalo na sa Panay at Negros islands,” he added.

The easterlies will bring rain over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and the remaining parts of the country.

“Sa Metro Manila, possible yung mga thunderstorms or yung mga pag-uulan between 2 to 5 p.m., gayundin sa mga nalalapit na lugar dito sa may Central Luzon and Calabarzon,” he explained.

No tropical cyclones are being monitored within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA did not raise gale warnings over any of the country’s seaboard.
