ABS-CBN superstar Coco Martin welcomes new stars for his series “Batang Quiapo” and here’s what he said about the new additions.
Several characters have already said goodbye to “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”. Lorna Tolentino and Lito Lapid as Amanda and Supremo, respectively, have left the series and this indicates that new characters will be welcomed.
Previously, the new stars to join the series were introduced, and among the new Batang Quiapo cast members are Andrea Brillantes, Jake Cuenca, Angel Aquino, Juan Rodrigo, Paolo Paraiso, Gillian Vicencio, Shamaine Buencamino, and veteran stars Michael de Mesa, Albert Martinez, Dante Rivero, Chanda Romero, and Celia Rodriguez.
Recently, in an interview, director and lead star Coco Martin spoke about this and the new chapter that is yet to unfold through these new characters. According to him, there’s an overwhelming feeling in the thought that he will be working alongside some of the veteran actors and icons of the industry.
He acknowledged the opportunity that comes rarely and not everyone is given this kind of opportunity.
“Actually overwhelming para sa akin kasi imagine niyo na makasama kami, lahat kami na mga baguhang artista, makasama namin ang mga veteran actors, mga icons sa industry–napakasarap,” he said.
Some of the screen veterans he will working with are de Mesa, Martinez, Rivero, Romero, and Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, BQ just previously celebrated its second anniversary, and last January 23, the series scored its highest peak concurrent viewers on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube to date. It reached 803,123 and this episode was the fatal encounter between Tanggol and Rigor. The fight occurred after Tanggol found out Rigor was not his real father.
Martin is thankful to the viewers of his series and to those who continue to support them. He assured to bring better storylines and more action and drama as they welcome several new characters.
