Jerry Yan, famous as Dao Ming Si, made this statement after the passing of Barbie Hsu a.k.a Shan Cai has been confirmed.
Barbie Hsu’s death was confirmed by her family to the Taiwanese media on Monday, February 3. Her career spanned three decades but she was dearest to the hearts of many as Shan Cai, the feisty yet charming character in the well-loved series Meteor Garden.
She was 48 years old and the cause of her death was pneumonia. She is survived by her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and her two children from her first Wang Xiao Fei, whom she divorced in 2021.
Her character in Meteor Garden has played a huge role in the childhood of many and has created a blueprint for fictional female characters later on. She worked closely with four other actors such as Jerry Yan as Daoming Si, Vic Chou as Huaze Lei, Vanness Wu as Meizuo, and Ken Chu as Ximen in this series. Their group in the story was called “F4”.
They have built a friendship.
In a previous article, Ken Chu mourns her death. He shared a pitch-black image on his Instagram Story after Barbie’s death was confirmed and the one that followed was a throwback photo of five of them together.
Recently, her leading man in the series known and loved for being Dao Ming Si, released a statement. According to reports, his statement was:
“Thankful for meeting you, in your carefree childlike years, you always said to live everyday as if it were your last and enjoy it to the fullest. I hope this time, you will go slowly, and from now on, in another world, there will be no troubles and the years will be peaceful.”
