Woman Dies After Stabbed by Tenant While Collecting Rent
A woman collecting rent was fatally stabbed by her tenant in Antipolo, Rizal who got furious after having a quarrel over rental dues.
A woman in Antipolo who was collecting rent was stabbed by her tenant. The furious suspect admitted to the crime, claiming that he was driven by anger after being publicly humiliated by the victim.
According to reports, a heated argument broke out in Barangay Mambugan between the woman and her male tenant. The exchange, captured on video, showed the woman demanding payment while the tenant seemed to be trying to confront her.
However, the incident that happened inside the house was not recorded. Authorities later confirmed that this was when the suspect stabbed the victim.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, a 36-year-old tenant known as “Jes,” had been renting the place owned by the victim’s sibling. Jes confessed that he had been struggling to pay the P5,000 rent for two months.
“Actually, tenant ‘yung suspect po natin. At ‘yung victim niya ay ‘yung kapatid naman nung may-ari ng property. So, ayon sa kanya, ‘yung dignity niya is natatapakan tuwing sinisingil sila. Siyempre, sinisingil sila. According sa suspect ay binungangaan at dumating na ‘yung sukdulan ba noong nakainom siya, nagkalakas siya ng loob sana na i-confront ‘yung biktima,” Antipolo Component City Police Station chief of police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manongdo said.
The suspect claimed that the victim would often shame him and his household in front of others whenever they failed to pay on time.
Jes who is under the influence of alcohol said he finally lost control during that day. Frustrated and embarrassed by the victim’s words, he confronted her. During the altercation, he grabbed a knife and stabbed her in the chest.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Authorities recovered the weapon used in the crime, and Jes is now in police custody, facing charges of murder. As of this writing, the victim’s family has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
