LTO Announces Plan to File Multiple Charges Against Marilaque ‘Superman’ Rider
LTO has announced plans to file several charges against Marilaque ‘Superman’ rider following a motorcycle accident.
Recently, the Facebook page “The Land Transportation Office” has announced plans to file several charges against motovlogger Recs Akmad following a motorcycle accident on Marilaque Road.
The incident, which took place last weekend, involved Akmad and another rider performing the dangerous “Superman” stunt, where the rider lies flat on the motorcycle while in motion.

Unfortunately, the other rider, identified as John Louie Arguelles, did not survive the crash. Meanwhile, Akmad, who survived the incident, is now facing legal consequences.
The LTO confirmed that administrative charges, including reckless driving and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle, are being prepared against him. A show cause order will also be issued for Akmad to explain why his license should not be revoked.
LTO Chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza II emphasized that public roads should never be used for stunts or exhibitions, as these activities endanger both riders and other motorists. To address these safety concerns, the LTO and Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) are intensifying their presence on Marilaque Road.

The agency aims to discourage dangerous behavior and prevent the area from becoming a hotspot for reckless motorcycle exhibitions.
“We have to put a stop to this practice because it endangers the lives of not only the motorcycle riders but also the other road users passing in the area. In the most recent case, may namatay na nga motorcycle vlogger at may mga nadamay pang turista,” said Asec Mendoza.
Assistant Secretary Mendoza directed LTO-Calabarzon to work with local police and government units to ensure stricter enforcement of road safety measures. He stressed that proper locations exist for such activities, and public roads are not the place for stunts that put lives at risk.
