PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring rain over parts of the country.

On Friday (January 17, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported thatthe  Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon will affect Northern and Central Luzon.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions overthe  rest of the country.

No tropical cyclone or low-pressure area is being monitored around the Philippine area of responsibility, according to PAGASA.

“Base sa ating latest satellite animation, wala tayong namamataan na bagyo o low-pressure area sa paligid ng Philippine area of responsibility [na] makakaapekto sa ating bansa sa susunod na araw,” Estareja

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern Luzon will be rough to very rough. The rest of Luzon will have moderate to rough waters. Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over Visayas and Mindanao, according to PAGASA.
