Doctor Injured in Traffic Altercation with Another Driver
A doctor was injured following an encounter with a man who rear-ended the doctor’s car along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
A traffic altercation is a conflict or dispute between individuals involved in a traffic-related situation. It typically occurs after events like car accidents, near-misses, road rage, or disagreements over driving behavior.
These altercations can range from verbal arguments to physical confrontations. It is always recommended to remain calm, prioritize safety, and handle disagreements constructively, such as by exchanging information or involving authorities if necessary.
Recently, a doctor suffered injuries after being involved in a traffic altercation with another vehicle driver. The incident took place when the doctor was on their way to work at a hospital in Quezon City.
According to the victim’s sibling, the other driver hit the rear of the doctor’s vehicle and offered P1,000 as compensation.
However, due to the huge damage to the car, the doctor declined the offer, leading to tension. The suspect reportedly became aggressive and refused to call the police, escalating the situation.
“Nagbigay ng isang libong piso para sa danyos, syempre yung kapatid ko ay hindi talaga pumayag dahil medyo malaki yung damage, kaya ito parang nagstart na nagwala tsaka ayaw magpatawag ng pulis,” said Glenn Belasquez.
A companion of the suspect, who introduced themselves as the child of a retired senior Philippine Coast Guard official, tried to intervene but was unable to stop the altercation.
Fortunately, police officers passing by the area responded quickly, apprehending the suspect and taking them to the Ermita Police Station. The suspect now faces charges of physical injury.
The doctor’s sibling shared that the suspect appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time, but authorities have yet to confirm this detail.
Ermita Police Station and the suspect have yet to release statements regarding the incident. Investigations into the case are still ongoing.
