Rufa Mae Quinto is happy about the turnout of her decision to face the case against her
Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto got emotional after her hearing at the Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) for 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code filed against her.
This legal issue was prompted by the complaints filed by the investors of beauty clinic Dermacare in which Rufa Mae was one of the endorsers.
On January 8, Rufa Mae opted to surrender to the authorities after a warrant of arrest was issued against her. The comedienne stayed overnight at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters as she was not able to post bail immediately.
On the morning of January 9, the comedienne, with her jolly mood faced the media while she was still at the NBI headquarters.
In a series of videos posted by ABS-CBN News, Rufa Mae Quinto shared that when the investment issue exploded, she immediately inquired if she was being dragged into it.
She also said that she wanted to face the complaint to put an end to this because she is not guilty, even though she had to spend money and time on this.
Amid the legal battle she is facing, Rufa Mae never fails to showcase her comedic side. She also expressed that she wanted to know the complainants and ask them why they included her.

On Thursday afternoon, Rufa Mae Quinto was released after the hearing. She got emotional talking about her recent predicament.
The comedienne said that what happened to her made her anxious and sad but she believed that the truth would prevail.
“Masaya lang po ako ngayon na nakakausap ko na kayo ng maayos, yung hindi yung parang ‘mamaya na,'” she shared.
She is thankful to everyone who expressed support for her. When asked why she was emotional, Rufa Mae said, “Naiiyak ako kasi masarap maging malaya eh,” the comedienne said, adding that it is great to be heard.
When a reporter noticed that she is still showing her funny side, Rufa Mae Quinto said, “Ako po ay isang komedyante hindi negosyante.”
