PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (January 9, 2025)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear and amihan will bring cloudy to rainy weather during Traslacion 2025.
On Thursday (January 9, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and the shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that Shear Line will be affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon will affect Northern and Central Luzon including Metro Manila.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Dinagat Islands.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Mindanao.
The weather agency has warned the public for flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains and severe thunderstorms.
No low-pressure area or tropical cyclone is expected within and outside the Philippine area of Responsibility within the next few days.
“Currently, we are not monitoring any LPA or tropical cyclones in and out of PAR, In the next few days, we still do not expect any LPA or typhoon that can affect any part of the country,” Torres said.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern, eastern sections of Luzon, and eastern section of Visayas will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
