Rufa Mae Quinto Reiterates She’s Also A Victim

On January 8, 2025, Rufa Mae Quinto surrendered to the authorities.

Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto surrendered on Wednesday to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) but maintains innocence.

Comedienne and actress Rufa Mae Quinto voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025. She went to the NBI office upon her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from San Francisco.

This is in relation to her alleged violation of the Securities Regulation Code.

To recall, last December 2024, the lawyer of Rufa Mae confirmed the warrant of arrest involving the actress but stressed that she was a victim of the situation. After surrendering, she underwent physical and medical examinations and was then sent to a Pasay court.

She is facing 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code.

Mary Louise Reyes, Quinto’s legal counsel, said that she will be posting bail. It was expected that she would be freed on the same day after posting bail which is around Php 1.7 million. Based on the report, the cases are bailable at Php 126,000.00 each which gives the total of Php 1.7 million.

The allegations against her were related to the issue of Dermacare-Beyond Skin Care Solutions. Previously, actress-entrepreneur Neri Naig was also arrested for the same violation.

Regarding her surrender, the actress spoke about the cases and maintained that she is innocent. She is also a victim but what matters most now is she is facing the cases and she is addressing it head-on to clear her name.

She will carefully think about filing a countercharge against those who filed complaints against her. The comedienne is taking matters one thing at a time.

“Alam mo, sa totoo lang, ang hanapin nila ang may ari, yun yung talagang may-ari. Tsaka wala naman akong kinalaman sa kanila. Di ko naman sila na-meet or nakilala,” she expressed.

Rufa Mae was an endorser of the company and admitted that she received bounced cheques from them. Later on, her contract as an endorser was canceled.
