PAGASA Says Amihan and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the amihan and the shear line will bring rain over some parts of the country.
On Tuesday (January 7, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and the shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the Shear Line will affect the eastern section of Southern Luzon.
“Sa kasalukuyan ay wala tayong namamataan o minomonitor na LPA o bagyo sa ating Philippine Area of Responsibility bagama’t patuloy pa rin ang pag-iral ng hanging amihan pati na rin ang shear line at nakakaapekto pa rin sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon area,” Torres said.
Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms over Quezon.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be rough. The eastern sections of Central, Southern Luzon, and the Visayas will have moderate to rough waters.
The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
