PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan, shear line, and ITCZ will bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Monday (January 6, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that the Northeast Monsoon, shear line, and Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rains over parts of the country. The amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
“Sa ating latest satellite images makikita nga natin yung mga kaulapan na magdadala ng mga pag-ulan dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao, ito ay bahagi ng ITCZ. Habang malaki naman ang tsansa ng mga pag-ulan sa silangang bahagi ng Northern Luzon sakop nga ng ilang area ng Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Camarines Province dulot naman ito ng shear line,” Badrina said.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Quezon, and Aurora.
The monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon. The ITCZ will bring the same weather over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern and Central Luzon will be rough. The eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.
The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate waters, according to PAGASA.
