Recognizing his potential, Dolphy encouraged him to embrace comedy. “Pero siya [Dolphy] ang nagsabi, ‘tawang-tawa kami sa’yo. ‘Lika nga dito anak. Dick, yaw mo mag-comedy? Mag-comedy ka na lang. Ituloy mo na lang,” Roderick said.
