Every year, the Philippine calendar is filled with several holidays including regular holidays and special non-working days. Most often, the holidays are due to national observances in honor of an important person or event in the history of the country.

With regards to the holidays in the Philippines, there are regular holidays and special non-working days. During regular holidays, both classes in schools and work in both public and private sectors are cancelled.

Employees who report to work on a regular holiday is entitled to an extra pay based on the labor rules as to how much is the pay during regular holiday and special non-working day. Those whose work are cancelled won’t have a salary deduction for the day.

Executive secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority given by Pres. Bongbong Marcos signed the Proclamation No. 727 which stated the holidays in the Philippines this 2025

Based on the proclamation released by the Palace, here are the regular holidays and special non-working and working days this 2025:

  • January 1 (Wednesday) – New Year’s Day
  • April 9 (Wednesday) – Araw ng Kagitingan
  • April 17 – Maundy Thursday
  • April 18 – Good Friday
  • May 1 (Thursday) – Labor Day
  • June 12 (Thursday) – Independence Day
  • August 25 (Last Monday of August) – National Heroes Day
  • November 30 (Sunday) – Bonifacio Day
  • December 25 (Thursday) – Christmas Day
  • December 30 (Tuesday) – Rizal Day
  • August 21 (Thursday) – Ninoy Aquino Day
  • November 1 (Saturday) – All Saints Day
  • • December 8 (Monday) – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
  • December 31 (Wednesday) – Last Day of the Year
  • February 25 (Tuesday) – EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary
  • January 29 (Wednesday) – Chinese New Year
  • April 19 – Black Saturday
  • October 31 (Friday) – All Saints’ Day Eve
  • December 24 (Wednesday) – Christmas Eve
